Own vs rent — your numbers
Defaults are placeholders, not quotes — put in your own cloud price and electricity rate. The kernel computes in integer cents and can return CHEAPER-TO-RENT; nothing here bills anyone.

How the shelf stays honest
A node cannot be shelved unless it certifiably beats its base. The kernel refuses a listing whose base receipt isn't a certified BEATS — the shelf sells proof, not hope.
Every listing and the whole index are content-addressed. Tamper with a summary, a receipt hash, or the node list and the hash breaks — this page recomputes it live.
Savings run on your rates, in integer cents, and can say rent. No fabricated vendor prices; a calculator that can only ever say "buy" is a brochure, not a tool.
No money moves here. This is a shelf, not a till — the payment rail is a separate, gated decision behind legal counsel.
